Blog Hotel Indigo

The last time we stayed at Hotel Indigo was already 1,5 years ago. When the hotel had just opened.

Located at the doorstep of Dubai Downtown, you can find this beautiful art boutique hotel. The hotel not only lives and breaths culture and art, they’re also dog friendly.

We’ve said it before, there’s a big difference in allowing dogs and being dog friendly. And at Hotel Indigo they really understand that when you’re out with your dog, you want to have fun and enjoy your time out together.

For the month of February, they have a special promotion: FURever Love. Where our dogs are able to enjoy their stay with us at Hotel Indigo without any extra charges.

And as you can imagine, that makes us very happy. So last weekend Boefje and I stayed again at Hotel Indigo to enjoy some time off.

Entering the hotel, you’re surrounded by amazing art. There are so many details in the interior. Different styles are mixed together and I don’t know how, but it works! The colors, the smell, it really gives you a unique experience. At the hotel you can find over 200 original artworks. I have to be honest, I didn’t count them but I have seen a lot of amazing art pieces during my stay. Every floor of this hotel has different art pieces from mostly local artists.

All staff members are extremely friendly and they all love dogs. Boefje got spoiled with cuddles and was treated like she was a VIP guest.

The rooms are spacious and have a beautiful view over the new Dubai Creek. At the room, a dog bed and water & food bowl are waiting for your pooch. Which makes your stay even more comfortable.

I love the details in the room and can’t get over the shisha lamp. Also, the mural drawing is amazing as well as the cabinets in the room. There’s so much attention to details.

On the ground floor you can find the Open Sesame restaurant. A social eatery with a Mediterranean menu. The terrace is spacious and has a unique feel because of the amazing waterfall.

It’s the perfect place to enjoy some amazing food in a relaxing ambiance together with your dog but this is also where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning.

This is also the restaurant where they have their famous Marasi Brunch. Although not dog friendly, it’s definitely a must try. Every Saturday from 2pm until 5pm you’ll find the indoor area of Open Sesame transformed in a true party area. Don’t be surprised if you see dancing flamingos and camels dancing on live music.

On the second floor you can find a 25-meter-long infinity pool. Unlike many other hotels, dogs are also allowed at the pool deck at Hotel Indigo. So there’s no need to leave your dog alone at the room during your stay.

At night the Orange Feels Bar at the pool deck is a great place to sit down and relax. You can watch the beautiful skyline while you enjoy a shisha and drinks. They have daily happy hours and a ladies’ night on Wednesdays.

Hotel Indigo also has a signature cocktail bar: Off The Wall. But since dogs are not allowed there, I only had a quick sneak peek. I was curious to have a look because I had heard so much about it. At Off The Wall they offer uniquely crafted cocktails. Or in other words: liquid art. The bar offers a menu with Pan Asian light bites and the overall vibe is very urban. They often have live music from a dj or a jazz band. And of course, they offer daily happy hours and ladies’ nights on Tuesday’s.

As you can expect from this luxury hotel, you can also find a fully equipped state of the art gym that is open 24/7 as well as Rayya Wellness Spa.

Although the neighborhood is not typically dog friendly, you do have the possibility to have a lovely walk alongside the canal. The Marasi Drive has a 12km promenade so it’s safe to say that there is more than enough opportunity to stretch your and your dog’s legs.

Overall I experience the stays at Hotel Indigo as very pleasant. I’ve stayed at more dog friendly hotels in The UAE and as mentioned before, I think that the teams at this hotel really understands dog owners and their dog’s needs.

At both Open Sesame as well as the Orange Feels bar, water bowls are provided without you having to ask for it. Cuddles are given to the dogs from the wait staff to even the Valet Parking team members and the overall service is just outstanding.

At Hotel Indigo they allow one dog per room and 2 dogs in a suite. To make sure all guests feel comfortable, dogs up to 20kg are allowed only.

As mentioned before, they have a special promotion this month. So if you haven’t stayed here yet and you would like to enjoy an amazing staycation, then do it this February.
